Combining Traditional Thai and Western Instruments in Contemporary Thai Music

A Lecture/Recital by Aj. Bringkop Vora-urai

Ajarn Bringkop Vora-urai, ethnomusicologist at Payap University, returns to give what promises to be a fascinating lecture on and performance of his latest endeavor: composing music which incorporates both traditional Thai and ethnic instruments and western instruments such as the piano, violin, and cello.  The interactive lecture will include slides, video clips, and live performances by Ajarn Bringkop and his students of some of his own compositions.

Ajarn Bringkop is an engaging speaker with excellent English.  Those who have attended his previous lecture/ recitals on Central Thai and Lanna Thai music have given him rave reviews.
