Pop-Up Choir: Singing for the Masses
Description:
Everyone can sing. Maybe you’re not a professional rock star or opera singer, but why let that stop you from doing something that is not only good for you, but FUN?! This is a choir with no printed music, and no expectations other than to come and have a really good time. By the end of each 90-minute session, you’ll be belting out a popular song in three-part harmony. Nothing to prepare – just show up, listen, follow instructions, and be prepared to surprise yourself.
You’re probably wanting to know which songs we’ll sing, right? Well, that part’s a surprise. Each week will be a different song, covering different eras, with something to please everyone. Some singing techniques will be shared, but these sessions are intended to give you an opportunity to sing with abandon, sing in community, and live out your secret (or not so secret) pop star dreams. Backing tracks will be used for a full, rich sound – like karaoke on steroids.
Dress comfortably, and leave your ego at the door. Singers with experience or no experience are all welcome.
