Description
Stretch for Balance is designed to improve balance, mobility, and posture through gentle stretching and strengthening exercises. The course includes six sessions, held once per week for six weeks, and is led by Khun Thanase Chatchawanchaisup, a licensed physical therapist specializing in fitness and balance for seniors. Khun Tanase first offered Stretch for Balance at the Lifelong Learning Center in 2024, to excellent reviews.
Balance is a crucial aspect of your fitness that combines flexibility, strength, core stability, and agility. But your balance can diminish with age, affecting mobility and increasing your risk of falls. Stretching not only improves balance but also reduces the risk of injury caused by improper use of muscles. It promotes muscle relaxation that rejuvenates the body and energizes the mind.
This unique course for seniors teaches specific exercises to improve static balance, for standing or sitting still, and dynamic balance, for moving about. The exercises are simple, safe, and effective for improving overall well-being. Participants can learn and practice the exercises sitting or standing, whichever is more appropriate to their individual needs.
Anyone who wishes to improve their mobility and balance is encouraged to join this group class of 10-20 participants.
