Teak Talk by Ron Emmons
Local author Ron Emmons talks about all things teak – its magical properties, its use in Thai art and architecture, as well as a brief history of the teak boom in the late 19th century and a short reading from his novel Teak Lord.
Ron Emmons, a British writer and photographer, has been based in Chiang Mai since 1988. After teaching English at the British Council and Chiang Mai University for a decade, he became a full-time freelancer, updating guidebooks for publishers like National Geographic and Rough Guides, and providing illustrated stories for media such as the South China Morning Post and Sawasdee (Thai Airways magazine). Teak Lord is his first novel.
