SUMMARY:Micro Documentary Film Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dates: Tuesday 14 July and Thursday 16 July 2026\nTime: 9:30 – 12:00 pm\nDescription\nThis Micro Documentary Workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn the basics of filmmaking from an independent filmmaker. Participants will gain hands-on experience making a short self-portrait video that serves as a mirror and a way to remember them. The instructor will teach simple filmmaking techniques such as archival footage\, voice-overs\, and basic video editing. \nThe two-session workshop is designed for introductory-level filmmakers\, but those with film production experience are welcome to attend. While making the video\, participants are invited to recall a moment in their lives that had a significant impact. \nThe films will be created using mobile phones with cameras. All participants must bring a mobile phone to both sessions of the Workshop. \nPresenter:\nSaul Chan Htoo Sang (b. 1998) is an independent filmmaker from Yangon\, belonging to the Chin/Zo indigenous people in highland Myanmar/Burma. In 2017\, he studied Ethnography and Media Studies at Grinnell College in Iowa\, USA\, approaching documentation through interdisciplinary practice. He is currently working as a freelance filmmaker in Chiang Mai while managing YOYAMAY\, an ethnographic textile gallery. \nEnrollment is limited to 15 participants so register soon to reserve your place for the workshop. \nCOST : 750 THB (for both sessions)
