DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe Doctor Prince Mahidol Museum (under Royal Patronage) honors the legacy of HRH Doctor Prince Mahidol\, the “Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand.” Experience the spiritual inspiration of McCormick Hospital’s historic house where Dr. Edwin C. Cort\, Superintendent of the American Presbyterian Medical Mission\, and Dr. Prince Mahidol lived and worked in 1929. Learn about initiatives and efforts that produced the most remarkable and lasting impact on improving modern medicine and public health in Thailand.  \nDr. Prince Mahidol graduated from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1921 with a Certificate in Public Health (C.P.H.) and an M.D. Cum Laude from the Harvard Medical School in 1928 with his clinical research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA. 90: 1607-1608\, May 19\, 1928). His powerful advocacy for medical and nursing education and public health affirmed life’s dignity and value. Dr. Prince was the key to instituting a partnership between the Rockefeller Foundation and Thailand. \nPresenter:\nGeorge McBride\, M.A. MT(ASCP). This docent-led tour is by George McBride\, a former clinical laboratory scientist and cancer biology researcher\, and a member of the museum’s research\, collections\, and archives team since 2018. He will provide insights into the American Presbyterian Foreign Medical Missions’ working relationships in Northern Thailand\, the museum’s permanent collection\, and history on view.  \nCOST: 350 THB
