Lifelong Learning Payap invites you to learn about the lifestyle of the Lanna (Northern Thai) people, and the history and making of celadon pottery. Participants on this day-long excursion will visit Chiang Mai Celadon in Doi Saket.
Since 1989, Khun Tassanee Yada (a graduate of Payap University) has devoted her time and energy to working with celadon ceramic pottery. In 2015, she moved her business out of town to her peaceful rural home compound in Doi Saket where she grew up. Khun Tassanee’s staff will be on hand to welcome you and present information on Celadon and the factory. Then you will have an opportunity to see the many artists there creating, carving, and painting celadon pottery on site. You will also experience creating your own artwork while you are there. Transportation,
insurance, a Thai lunch, presentation and activities will be included in your excursion.

Schedule:

9:00am Leave LLL Center by Van
9:45am Arrive at Chiang Mai Celadon Doi Saket

• • Welcome and watch a video about the history, background, and charm of green-color celadon
  • Visit the factory and learn about the process of creating celadon products, the firing, and glazing to create exquisite and beautiful works
  • Walk through the Masterpiece Room to admire the priceless works that that reflect the beauty of celadon
  • Visit a traditional Lanna Thai house surrounded by a peaceful and shady atmosphere
  • Enjoy a snack
  • Participate in workshop activities of your choice
  • Enjoy a delicious Thai lunch
  • End with a visit to the showroom and take some memorable photos before returning to the LLL Center
