Allied Operations During the Secret War in Laos

Allied Operations During the Secret War in Laos

Description:

During the Second Indochina War when Thailand and the U.S. were military allies and fought together in Vietnam, a Secret War was being fought in neighboring Laos. The U.S and Thailand from the 1950s onward committed resources – aid and soldiers – on behalf of the Royal Lao Government to combat encroaching communism in Laos. This session describes the Allied motivations, military, health, and economic operations, and outcome of these Allied operations inside Laos.
