Mural Dedication Event
President Apicha Insuwan formally accepts the carved wooden mural from Nicole Simmons and Ambassador Eric Rubin during the dedication ceremony at the Lifelong Learning Center.

On 22 June 2026, Lifelong Learning Payap and Payap University hosted a special Mural Dedication Ceremony at the Lifelong Learning Center to celebrate the donation of a large carved wooden mural by Ambassador Eric Rubin, former United States Consul General in Chiang Mai, and his wife, Nicole Simmons.

The ceremony was attended by Aj. Apicha Insuwan, President of Payap University, Ms. Kelia Cummins, United States Consul General in Chiang Mai, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the university. Guests enjoyed traditional Lanna music performed by students from the College of Music, Payap University, as well as a traditional blessing dance performed by Bua and Mymint.
Following welcome remarks by President Apicha Insuwan, Ms. Kelia Cummins introduced Ambassador Rubin and Nicole Simmons. The formal presentation and acceptance of the mural was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking its official dedication at the Lifelong Learning Center. Nicole Simmons shared the story behind the mural, while Ambassador Rubin reflected on his diplomatic career and long-standing connection to Chiang Mai.

The afternoon concluded with remarks of gratitude from Christine Tananone on behalf of Lifelong Learning Payap. Guests then enjoyed refreshments, conversation, a tour of the Lifelong Learning Center, and an exhibition of artwork by Ajarn Richie Chen in the LLL Classroom Gallery.
The event was warmly received, with attendees expressing appreciation for the meaningful ceremony, the opportunity to gather with friends and colleagues, and the delicious refreshments served throughout the afternoon.
