Exploring the Architectural Heritage of Prince Royal’s College

Description

Today, we’re going to explore the campus of Prince Royal College which boasts one of the largest concentrations of heritage buildings from the early 20th century in Chiang Mai. They include houses for teachers, dormitories for pupils, a dining hall, a theatre, and a chapel – the latter being one of the finest heritage buildings of any kind to be found in Chiang Mai. All were built is the relatively short period between 1905 and 1930.

How did Rev. William Harris, PRC’s long-serving principal, obtain funding for the buildings? Who supplied the plans and how were they built? What was Harris’s vision for the campus?

Join us for this exploration of one of Chiang Mai’s most fascinating ensembles of western architectural heritage.
