Learning to draw and paint are two powerful ways to enhance your ability to see the world and to express how you see it! Exploring Watercolor is a five week course designed for students of all levels, whether you haven’t picked up a brush since grade school or already have a practice in the arts.

Working from a variety of subjects such as still life, landscape, and street scenes, each class will take students from conception to completion of a watercolor painting. Instruction includes basic drawing concepts which go hand in hand with successful watercolor techniques. Topics include: working from life and photo, composition, color mixing, executing washes, brush strokes, and including value contrast.

We’d love to have you join in. You’ll learn a lot AND have fun in an atmosphere of exploration, camaraderie, and support.

About the Presenter

Amy Williams Dapice is an artist, teacher, and writer. She received her MFA in painting from the University of Washington in 1996 before beginning her teaching career as adjunct faculty for the UW School of Drama. Ms Dapice went on to become an instructor at the Northwest College of Art and the Art Institute of Seattle, working in both the Fine Art and Media Arts and Animation departments. Dedicated to community education, Dapice founded the Art Center on Bainbridge Island, Washington and continues to teach workshops worldwide. She divides her time between the United States and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
