Hike at Mae Soi Watershed and Tam Tu Pu Temple with Khun Kunakorn Booonsai
Enjoy a guided exploration of the environment, culture and history of the Mai Soi watershed in Chomthong District. You will visit Tam Tu Pu Buddhist monastery, hike along a forest stream and visit a sacred forest. Khun Kunakorn is an experienced biologist who will take you on less traveled back-roads to learn about the 30-year untold story of an effort to conserve local forests of a Buddhist monk, a royal princess and the people of Mae Soi watershed.
You have the option to participate in merit making at the temple. You will see the efforts of forest restoration and local seedling production at Ban Mae Soi village. Hiking trails are moderate. You will need to be able to get in and out of a four-wheel drive truck and be steady on your feet.
