Description:

Sketching Chiang Mai is a course in sketching and simple painting. Working both inside and outside the classroom, students will learn the basics of composition, line drawing, value, and color with an emphasis on creative interpretation. Topics include street scenes, markets, nature, food vendors, sacred structures, and much more. The final two sessions will be conducted on location.

Materials List:

• Sketch pad (Mixed media or Bristol) approximately 8 x 10″
• Cheap sketch paper or copy paper
• Soft art pencil 4B or softer; hard square eraser; sharpener
• Ink pen
• Color: basic watercolor pan set or basic tube set (mixing pan, brush, etc.)
