Time: 9:00am – 10:00am
Brief Course Description:
This six-week course is designed to promote balance for seniors through easy stretching and strengthening exercises. The program will help improve flexibility, muscle strength, mobility, and posture while preventing injuries related to improper muscle use.
More Information:
Balance is a crucial aspect of your fitness that combines flexibility, strength, core stability, and agility. But your balance can diminish with age, affecting mobility and increasing your risk of falls. Stretching not only improves balance but also reduces the risk of injury caused by improper use of muscles. It promotes muscle relaxation that rejuvenates the body and energizes the mind.
This unique course for seniors teaches specific exercises to improve static balance, for standing or sitting still, and dynamic balance, for moving about. The exercises are simple, safe, and effective for improving overall well-being. Participants can learn and practice the exercises sitting or standing, whichever is more appropriate to their individual needs.
Anyone who wishes to improve their mobility and balance is encouraged to join this group class of 10-20 participants.
Instructor:
The course will be taught by a Khun Thanase Chatchawanchaisup, a licensed physical therapist who specializes in fitness and balance for seniors. Khun Tanase first offered Stretch and Balance at the Lifelong Learning Center in 2024, to excellent reviews.
